There are standard speed limits in Russia (unless otherwise stated by traffic signs).
Speed limits for motorcycles:

Speed limits for vehicles (up to 3,5t):

Speed limits for vehicles with trailers:
| in populated areas | 60 km/h |
| outside populated areas | 70 km/h |
| on a speedway | 70 km/h |

The minimum allowed speed of driving on highway in Russia is 40 km/h.
The maximum permissible speed for interurban buses and minibuses for passengers transportation is 90 km/h on all roads outside populated areas.
The maximum permissible speed for vehicles for organized transportation of children is 60 km/h on all roads outside populated areas.
The maximum permissible speed in residential areas is 20 km/h.
The maximum permissible speed in case of towing inoperative vehicle is 50 km/h.
There are some road sections where additional speed limits imposed, for vehicles up to 3.5 t, so the maximum permissible speed may be 130 km/h (roads marked with road sign - highway: «5.1 Автомагистраль"), and up to 110 km/h (roads marked with road sign "5.3 Дорога для автомобилей". These road sections are signaled with also with a road sign: "3.24 Ограничение максимальной скорости».
In the zone of the road sign «5.21 Жилая зона" (residential area) the maximum permissible speed of movement for all road vehicles is 20 km/h.
