There are standard speed limits in Cyprus (unless otherwise stated by traffic signs).
Speed limits for motorcycles and passenger cars (up to 3t):

| outside populated areas | 80 km/h |
| on a highway | 100 km/h |
Speed limits vehicles with trailers:
| in populated areas | 50 km/h |
| outside populated areas | 80 km/h |
| on a highway | 100 km/h |
The minimum allowed speed of movement in the highway is 65 km/h.
Fines for speeding are calculated as percentages for each excess of 1 km/h.
