There are standard speed limits in Belgium (unless otherwise stated by traffic signs).
Speed limits for motorcycles and passenger cars (up to 3t):

| outside populated areas | 90 km/h |
| on a motor road | 120 km/h |
| on a highway | 120 km/h |
Speed limits for vehicles with trailers:
| in populated areas | 50 km/h |
| outside populated areas | 90 km/h |

| on a highway | 120 km/h |
The minimum speed limit on highway is 70 km/h.
The speed limits for vehicles with studded tires, is 90 km/h on highway, and 60 km/h on the other roads.
In the residential area (signed by the relevant road sign) the speed limit is 30 km/h for all type of vehicles.
Be careful - there are lots of speed cameras on the roads near to Flanders and Brussels.
